i-CAT

Valley Oral Surgery is pleased to offer the latest in diagnostic imaging for our patients. The i-CAT represents the latest development in dental and maxillofacial radiographic imaging. It allows for detailed three-dimensional imaging of the facial skeleton previously only available in a hospital setting.

The i-CAT scan is performed in our office, often during the initial consultation appointment. A 20 second scan provides 3D imaging data for improved patient diagnosis. The scan administers significantly less radiation than a medical CT scan. The radiation administered is similar to that of four regular dental x-rays.

The images obtained during the scan allow for precision surgical planning for such procedures as:

  • IMPLANT PLANNING
  • THIRD MOLAR EXTRACTIONS
  • ASSESSMENT OF IMPACTED CANINES
  • ASSESSMENT OF CRITICAL SURGICAL ANATOMY (NERVES, SINUSES)
  • ASSESSMENT OF AVAILABLE BONE FOR IMPLANT PLACEMENT
  • ASSESSMENT OF POSSIBLE NEED FOR FUTURE BONE GRAFTING

i-CAT scan also allows the doctors at Valley Oral Surgery to perform advanced implant procedures with utmost surgical precision. Data obtained is compatible with “Teeth in an Hour” implant protocol.

Valley Oral Surgery is the ONLY office in the Lehigh Valley offering this amazing technology.
